Why do we love vintage things so much…

Tuesday 3rd March 2020

Daily Blog NO.94.
The word vintage is so fashionable these day that if you like new things your so off trend its untrue.

The unfortunate thing about vintage items is the companies are making them new and classing them as vintage and then still pricing them as vintage items. If you know what I mean.

Vintage fetishes are unique

For example, old school barbers with the whirly candy stick (as I call it) out side the door to attract passers by was a regular and average thing back in the day.

The comb over hair style was for the poor old guys that didn’t want to show their bold patch. So they would desperately hold onto their hair on a windy day in case it flapped like they were waving to the passer by on the other side of the road but now a days even the tiny children are carrying off the same stke.

To mix new and vintage is nice but it has to be put together just right otherwise it looks out of place.

When it comes to vintage fetishes such as hairdressing the ladies hairdressing is a whole different fetish on its own.

Setting rollers, hair nets and seated setting dryers in rows of 4 to 6 will bring back memories for lots of ladies that were growing up in that era.

In the fetish world men have a fantasy of being able to dress in the pretty capes and have their hair in rollers with pink hair nets but not all high street salons will accept this kind of behaviour.

Only if all hairdressers knew what a big thing the hair fetish Is….

So if you have a hairdressing fetish contact me and we can converse about the topic a little more…
